After Prime Minister Narendra Modi bashed the anti-CAA protestors for damaging public property, it’s now Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah who has targeted the people who raged against the proposed law.
Shah accused the opposition of creating confusion over the Citizenship Amendment Act and spoiling the atmosphere in the national capital by misleading the people.
“Nobody said anything inside Parliament during the debate on CAA but the moment they were outside, they started spreading rumours. The ‘tukde-tukde’ gang led by the Congress is responsible for violence in Delhi and time has come to teach them a lesson,” said Shah.
Soon after Union Minister Giriraj Singh took potshots at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and what the BJP describes as the “tukde-tukde gang”, accusing them of attempting to divide the country.
Singh said, “What Mughals and Britishers could not do, that Rahul Gandhi, Congress, ‘tukde-tukde’ gang and Owaisi want to do. They want to divide India. They want a civil war in India.”
Now that BJP is boiling over this ‘tukdetukde gang’, here’s what you need to know about this group.
While some say it is an alleged group of youngsters without any political connections and who aspire to enter politics, others claim that the alleged gang represents the left wing pseudoliberals of India.
There are people who refer them as ‘anti-nationals’ taking shelters in colleges and universities.
However, there are other people who say that the gang is not a threat to India as they are rightly serving the purpose of Indian democracy, questioning the government related to matters that concern India’s growth and economy.
We came across a twitter account with the name ‘TukdeTukde Gang’ with the bio that reads ‘Naam hi kaafihai’. Since the account is not verified, we doubt if this account is official. However, here are some of the tweets by the account:
