As the entire world grapples the severity of fast spreading corona virus, there has come a sigh if relief from India. Seven more people have been cured of the disease and discharged from various hospitals across the nation.

With this, the total number of patients who have been cured in India is now 10.

Prior to this, three students were cured who were found positive with coronavirus, in Kerala.

“We succeeded in the first part, that of containing coronavirus. 3 students who were found to be corona-positive were isolated, now they are stable. They were cured,” said Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja.

The total number of infected people in India have reached 83, with two of them succumbing to COVID-19.

Few days after an old patient infected with Corona died in Karnataka, India witnessed second death because of the disease after a 69-year old lady lost the battle in Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. Her son is also suffering from COVID-19 infection.

The infection in India so far has been mild, and apart from two patients admitted in Jaipur, the rest did not require the anti-HIV/Aids drug that has been permitted under ‘restricted use’ to manage unstable Covid-19 cases.

Several Indian states have gone into the battle mode to contain the spread of the virus by shutting down schools, colleges, halls and even malls. Asking people to avoid mass gathering and work from home as and when possible, even events like IPL have been postponed.

The World Health Organization said on Friday that Europe was now the “epicentre” for the global coronavirus pandemic, and, and warned it was impossible to know when the outbreak would peak.

The government has also “strongly advised” Indians to avoid all non-essential travel abroad.
