Just after India banned various Chinese apps including TikTok, the US and Australia are also looking at a potential ban of these apps.
Recently India imposed a ban on 59 apps, mostly Chinese in view of security threat and possible user data sharing with the Chinese Communist Party government.
Speaking to a news channel, US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the US government is looking at banning the chinese apps. In the US earlier too many lawmakers realised concerns over the data sharing through these apps with the Chinese government. Although the company stated that their servers are not located in China thus they are not abide by the Chinese laws.
TikTok is one of the popular social media platforms for making short videos and is owned by a China-based parent company ByteDance.
There are reports that TikTok would soon exit from Hong Kong as China imposed a new security law on the city.
In Australia also there is speculation the government may call to ban TikTok and other Chinese social media apps over national security concerns.
