The ministry of Electronics and information Technology has been determined to proscribe more mobile applications, substantially of Chinese origins, officials familiar with the matter said.
Last month, the Government had taken a move to ban 59 applications, including popular video making app TikTok formerly known as Musical.ly, in the backdrop of a India-China standoff in Galwan Valley, In which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

Applications like, Helo Lite, ShareIt Lite, Bigo Lite and VFY Lite has been include in the list of those 59 apps by the government, and have been removed from the play store and Apple store, the officials said.
Banning the apps, the government had said that they were ‘prejudicial to sovereignty, integrity and security of the country’.
‘’Despite the proscribe via these versions the apps were found to be used’, a MEITY official said. ‘’They have been removed from the applications store’’.
