BCCI has got the approval from Government of India to organise the Indian premier league in United Arab Emirates for 2020. The board said in its announcement that it would work along with the franchises to ensure the arrangements for bio security at the sites of the tournament. In this regard ,BCCI has already released its Standard operating Procedures for the Board, the UAE sports authorities as well the franchises. The media sports guide would soon be brought out ahead of the IPL.
The tournament is being planned from September 19th to November 10th of this year. After the whole Galwan incident, a furore had risen against the Chinese companies participating in Indian based events. That caused the ouster of the Chinese corporation Vivo from the list of sponsors for the current IPL on a mutual consent basis. Currently the BCCI is involved in looking for a suitable replacement for Vivo keeping in mind the scale of the tournament and it’s location this year i.e. UAE. In this regard the board stated that it would soon release an Expression of Interest to pull in a proper sponsor for the awaited cricket tournament.
