On Sunday, the Indian railway ministry made a statement “It may be noted that private trains are slated to run from March 2023 only. Tenders will be finalized by March 2021 and Trains will operate from March 2023.” The ministry had started the official protocol of allowing the private trains to be introduced on 109 routes, by July 1, 2020. This information is given by the officials on the condition of anonymity.
These trains are to be inaugurated in different phases at a time, with the first 12 of them to be introduced in 2023-24. By the year 2027, all 151 of these private trains are expected to be set in motion.
By April 2021, the railway transporters are set to select the respective companies that will be running these private trains. After the first FY, 45 more of these trains will be introduced in 2024-25, followed by the next 50 to be launched in 2025-26 and by the Financial Year 2026-27, the last 44 trains will be introduced.
The railway ministry of India informed that private trains, that are all set to be introduced in March 2023 on the railway tracks, are supposed to be working on new technologies at a fast speed of 160 Kmph at maximum. Along with new improved facilities, these private trains will charge fares in competition with other trains in a similar segment.
