Election Commission of India on Sunday announced bypolls for assembly seats each in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tripura and Kerala.
The by-elections for Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh), Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Badharghat (Tripura) and Pala (Kerala) will be held on September 23.
Since the disqualification of BJP MLA Ashok Chandel, a bypoll was necessitated. There are bypolls for 12 other seats in UP as the sitting MLAs won the elections this year, but the dates are yet to be announced.
Following the death of respective sitting MLAs in Dantewada, Pala and Badharghat, the by-elections were necessitated.
The notifications for the bypolls will be issued on August 28 while the counting will be held on September 27, as per Election Commission of India.
