The Corona Virus outbreak has brought the entire world to a standstill. From stock markets, to office routines, malls or even schools, every sector is suffering a major setback following the spread of the novel COVID-19. Amid all this, the political sector is also not untouched by the pandemic, as declared by the WHO.
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling off his major meetings and trips, now various parties are backing out of rallies and programmes ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar. Although the state has not reported any coronavirus case yet, but political parties are not shying away from taking precautionary measures.
The novel coronavirus threat has forced the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) to cancel their political programmes scheduled for the coming few days.
A two-day training session of the RJD leaders and members scheduled for March 14-15 in Rajgir, Nalanda has been cancelled.
RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, who was set to leave for Rajgir on Friday evening, decided to cancel the training session event in the wake of the novel coronavirus threat.
LJP national president Chirag Paswan also decided to call off his ongoing ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’ yatra due to the novel coronavirus scare.
Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has planned a ‘mega-rally’ on June 11 to contest the claims on development made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. However, it is still to see if this event will also be hit by the novel COVID-19.
The 55 Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar will go to polls on March 26th.
