Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying that he broke the trust of his mentor and social activist Anna Hazare to start the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

“Anna Hazare repeatedly said ‘you shouldn’t form a political party’ but his feelings were disrespected and Arvind Kejriwal formed a party. He broke his mentor’s trust, how will he maintain the trust of people? It’s beyond our understanding,” Singh said while addressing an election rally in the national capital.

And while BJP is continuously slamming Kejriwal, ahead of Delhi assembly elections to be held on February 8th, the minister has found an arch supporter in the form of actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan.

Haasan, the president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party, took to Twitter to share a video of Kejriwal, where he is heard stating the achievements of his government in the national capital. “What a proclamation by an achiever called @ArvindKejriwal. This seemingly astounding feat is imitable, if one has the moral and ethical strength. Do not just follow this leader, emulate him,” he wrote.

“This is not an advice. This is a challenge. Take it, I have. He is a leader, so are you, so am I. I salute my brother in arms. DELHI DOOR NAHIN,” he added.

Meanwhile, unfazed by all the mudslinging and blame game, Kejriwal continues to woo Delhi voters on the basis of good work that he and his party has done. He recently gave himself the status of ‘Bada Beta’ — the eldest son of all the families in Delhi.

“I consider myself as ‘bada beta’ of every family in Delhi, whose responsibility is to pay the electricity bill, water bill, take patients to clinics for treatment and arrange pilgrimage for the elders of the family. And I’m doing so and shall continue doing it in future as well,” said Kejriwal in his recently held public meetings in south Delhi’s Kalkaji, Chirag Dilli and upscale Greater Kailash.
