Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi’s CM for the third consecutive term at the national capital’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday.
Sharing his happiness over the feat, the leader talked and shared the roadmap for Delhi’s development in the next five years. Addressing hoards of people after his swearing-in, he forgave his opponents and sought the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure the progress of Delhi.
Instead of inviting the chief ministers of other states to the swearing-in, Kejriwal’s cabinet surrounded themselves with 50 “Dilli ke Nirmaata (makers of Delhi)”. They included teachers, doctors, architects, Metro train drivers, civil defence wardens, businesspersons, students, workers, widows of martyrs and engineers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was invited to Arvind Kejriwal’s oath-taking ceremony but couldn’t attend, congratulated the AAP chief on Twitter for becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. Kejriwal, in a swift response, said he wished the PM had attended the event.
“Thank you for the warm wishes sir. I wish you could come today, but I understand you were busy. We must now work together towards making Delhi a city of pride for all Indians,” Kejriwal tweeted.

Kejriwal echoed similar sentiments during his speech as he said, “I had also invited the prime minister for the oath ceremony today, but I guess he could not make it because he was busy. I want the prime minister to bless us so that we can work for the development and progress of Delhi,” said Kejriwal.
The AAP scripted a phenomenal victory by sweeping 62 out of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly polls after a campaign where Kejriwal desisted from directly attacking Modi and stuck to his development plank.
