With just a few days before the ICC could decide the fate of the upcoming T20 world cup, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said that the international Cricket Council should wait for the suitable time to host the event.

The ICC is supposed to make a decision on June 10 inorder to explore the contingency plans amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held between October – November in Australia this year.

While speaking to a pakastani publication, the former captain said that World Cup is a big crowd game where spectators from all around the world come and support their teams, so it can’t be played behind closed doors.

Recently the ICC has recommended a ban on the use of saliva to shine the ball but allowed sweat in order to counter the spread of coronavirus spread.

The Pakistani pacer also added that using sweat on the ball is not a solution as too much use of sweat will make the ball wet and thus believe that ICC will come with a reasonable solution for this.
