When the entire world is fighting the coronavirus pandemic and all the events are taking backstage, there might be a ray of hope for the cricket lovers.

The chairman of the league’s governing council Brijesh Patel has said that BCCI is considering holding the delayed 2020 edition of the IPL tournament around September-October this year.

Patel in an interview said that the final decision will be based on the International Cricket Council’s decision on the T20 World Cup.

Australia will be hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 from 18th October to 15th November this year but due to the coronavirus pandemic the final decision to carry the game has been put on hold.

Patel also said that they are also open to hold this year’s event in another country also, although the first choice to host the event will be India. Recently the UAE Cricket Board has made an offer to the BCCI that it can host the IPL.

Patel also added that IPL 2020 might be carried in a limited number of venues and also BCCI is open to playing without crowds as players safety is their first concern.
