Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today met Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance leaders at his bungalow in Mumbai.
The agenda of this meeting was to discuss the ongoing coronavirus situation and decision to uplift the lockdown in some areas of the state.
There were speculations that NCP chief Sharad Pawar was not happy with Thackeray handling the covid-19 outbreak in the state. Recently Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)-Congress led coalition had a series of meetings which further boosted the assumptions of strained ties.
But later the NCP chief clarified that there is no threat to the government and all MLAs are together.
The speculations on Tuesday further rose when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi indicated alienation of his party with the state government over handling the covid-19 situation. He said that the Congress is supporting the Maharashtra government but his party is not the key decision maker. He further said that there is a difference between running the government and supporting it. He also said that the state is in a very difficult situation and needs assistance from the centre.
Covid-19 cases in India crossed the 1.5 lakh mark today. Whereas Maharashtra continues to record the highest number of cases with more than 54,000 and at least 1792 deaths.
