Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Haryana’s Rohtak on Sunday as the state preps up to undergo assembly elections in October this year.
Talking about his government’s performance in the first 100 days after it swept over the Lok Sabha polls in May this year, Modi said the first 100 days of his government have shown that it knows how to take challenges head-on, and a road map has been prepared to help different sectors to strengthen the economy.
Addressing the mega rally, the prime minister also launched BJPs campaign for the upcoming assembly elections, Modi said that 130 crore Indians were the inspiration behind the government’s major decisions in various fields from farm sector to national security.
Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said they were still “numb” from their Lok Sabha polls debacle.
He also thanked the people of Haryana for making the BJP win all 10 parliamentary seats in the state. The PM assured that the government was working on reforms and several measures have been taken for the farmers and the poor in the state.
The government is focusing on preventive health care services and working towards making health services cheaper and easy to avail, he said. Modi said programmes like Swachh Bharat, Yoga, Ujjwala, Ayurveda and Fit India movement were contributing to controlling diseases.
Praising Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, he said that the state has been declared ODF and is contributing significantly in the country’s growth. Exuding confidence that the BJP will return to power in Haryana after October elections, he said, “People of Haryana often face difficulty in understanding their CM’s name. They get confused between Manohar and NaMohar. I want to tell them that both are equally correct, they are one and the same.”
