Indians believe in the idea of Omen or something which is known as Panoti in Hindi. The period of mid-March onwards in the year 2020 would remain etched till eternity in the minds of those concerned Indians who are rational in their outlook, who don’t judge someone based on the religious denomination, who has some mental capacity to analyse the situation and most importantly who have not fallen to the WhatsApp trap of the new India. This chest thumping, megalomaniac, misogynistic, narcissistic, self-praising regime has taken the Hindi word ‘baddua’ to the next level, and gave us one hell of an example after another in the process of doing so. When the world in middle of February 2020 was fastening its seat belts to deal with the Covid-19 crisis, India witnessed beginning of not so subtle digital marketing campaign for the Bihar elections. Then came the toppling of a state government. The Covid-19 was at a stone’s throw away from getting into India. Countries like Taiwan had already shut down their air traffic which protected them to an appreciable extent. Yet, by that time the Corona Crisis had not been officially identified as a crisis in India. Subsequently, the ego feeding ceremony of mass gatherings was arranged to butter a super-power. Those were the events which brought into India the superspreaders of COVID-19 with the bunch of people who accompanied the US delegation.
Just when we thought that we had seen enough of the misfortune befalling fellow Indians, we got to see a clip of a boy(visibly tired and excruciatingly hungry) eating out of the carcass of a dog. Last time India faced such a deadly situation was during 1943 famine; more precisely the 1770 Bengal famine where people had to resort to eating out of carcasses and corpses. A country booming and ready to take on the world in 2008 has been brought to such a condition just because of good guys losing the electoral game.
People who still think that this cranially insolvent ignoramus group of leaders has done a single iota of good work are either zombies or psychotic fools. If you are counting the passing of triple talakh bill among the good deeds, it was more to do with religion based politics.
There is a huge difference in running Sardinia and running the Roman Empire. In hindsight, I find solace in the fact that way back in late 2013 when the current leader’s name was put forth on national pedestal, I was not alone to identify that this would have serious repercussions on the economic, social and political fabric of the country. From late 2013 to mid 2014, I could see the inexorable pull the phantasmagorical image created around this person had on his followers just because of the religious identification. They were and still are driven to frenzy by the ‘you vs us’ dyad. This pull is still having a rabid effect on the minds of his followers who blindly got allured to his Messianic image (false Messiah to be precise). Even after trying through various means, I could not make people (at least whom I care about) to see the sinister side of this persona.
Some of his followers have the audacious gawl to compare him with Vivekananda and to pool-classify the ones who doubt him as Bashi Bazouks.
The funniest joke is that his home state is now the largest consumer of the urine of ‘The Holy animal'(6500 litres per day as per some reports). Respecting an animal’s life is one thing, and drinking its pee is another stuff altogether. The world is moving towards developing sustainable meat grown on the fibres of grass and here we have people drinking urine. That sounds so much like a zero investment business idea. But, let’s not digress!!!
The attraction that these mentally sore followers feel for their ignoramus Caligulaic god will wear out once hunger hammers them hard. Just think, how long can they sustain an IT cell where the blokes work for just Rs 2 per tweet of hate message ?!?
Entire economy, loads of jobs, livelihoods, ways of life got destroyed just because one person had to feed his ego.
Ultimately, we shouldn’t forget that it was the ‘bread and cake’ line that got Marie Antoinette join her husband, the French monarch- Louis XVI to the guillotine at the hands of the Third Estate- the general public !!!
