As the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is set to retain power in Maharashtra, PM Narendra Modi said the people of the state have blessed the NDA with immense affection. He said the NDA is “humbled” to have got the people’s support yet again.
Meanwhile, Maharshtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, who is set for his second innings, said, “We are going ahead with what has been decided between ShivSena and us (BJP). What has been decided is something which you will get to know when the time is right.”

Meanwhile, according to latest reports, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has set up a 17-member group which will meet on October 25, to discuss the post-poll scenario and other key political issues. The group, led by Sonia Gandhi, includes other top Congress leaders like former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, A K Antony, Mallikarjun Kharge, Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh, Ambika Soni, Kapil Sibal, K C Venugopal and Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary.
Besides discussing the poll results outcome, the panel would discuss key issues to be taken up in the Winter Session of Parliament starting November 18 and other political issues to take on the Modi government.
Hours into the Haryana election counting of votes, the picture remains unclear. The BJP and Congress are locked in a head to head battle as per the latest Haryana election news.
As per Election Commission data, BJP emerged as the largest party in Haryana with registering a win in 39 seats and leading in one seat. Congress trailed on second position with 31 seats.
Reacting on the win, PM Modi said, “I thank the people of Haryana for blessing us. We will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress. I laud the efforts of hardworking Haryana BJPKaryakartas who toiled extensively and went among the people to elaborate on our development agenda.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Anand Sharma has said that the party accepts the people’s mandate. “We accept the people’s mandate humbly and respectfully. We also want to say that it is a moral defeat for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). PM Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and their entire leadership was cut off from the ground reality,” he said, at a press conference.
