Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, preparations are in full swing for the assembly elections. As per the Chief Electoral Office of the state, Gurugram requires around 50 more polling booths for the upcoming state elections. Since the number of voters are increasing, the district administration is working out on the list of additional requirements.

There will be a meeting next week, wherein the final list of the additional requirements will be discussed before submission. There are 1600 control units, 2500 ballot units and 1700 VVPAT machines at present, according to the official data. The CEO of Haryana, Anurag Agarwal asked the district officials to submit the list of requirements like EVMs, VVPATs and other details like the status of first level checking of EVMs and the need of man power during the on going polls.

Also, it was decided during the meeting that was held earlier in the month, that the voters who want their names deleted from the list can opt for the same. Adding to the same, new entrants can apply for their names in the voter list. After a thorough verification of the list regarding the deleted names and new entrants has been uploaded on the website of the CEO Haryana. The final voters list of Gurugram shall be published on August 19 and the list will be uploaded on district administration’s website soon.
