The voting for the assembly election in West Bengal concluded with the final phase of polling. The state recorded a voter turnout of 76.07% in the final phase as polling concluded at 6.30 pm on Thursday. The voter turnout was at 68.46 percent till 4 pm in the final phase of polling. The district-wise recorded voter turnouts after the conclusion of eighth-phase polling are as follows:
Birbhum: 81.82 percent; Kolkata North: 57.85 percent, Malda: 79.98 percent; Murshidabad: 78.09 percent

In the eighth & last phase of the Assembly elections, drones were used for surveillance by the Election Commission of India, at polling booths. The poll body had announced that 5,433 booths are extremely sensitive where 24 general observers, nine expenditure observers and nine police observers were deployed for the eighth phase.

In the final phase of West Bengal election, voting was held in 11,860 polling stations of 35 constituencies, 11 each in Murshidabad and Birbhum, six in Malda and seven in north Kolkata. Over 84.77 lakh voters were eligible to decide the political fate of 283 candidates in this phase. Vote counting for the West Bengal election will take place on May, 02.
