A day after a second FIR was registered in the Zomato controversy, HiteshaChandranee left Bengaluru on Wednesday, say city police. The development was reported after Hitesha’s home address was leaked online during the case investigations.

“When we went to her house nobody opened the door,” said Anil Kumar, Police Inspector, Electronic City Police Station.Another police official said, “She feels afraid staying here as people might come to her home to speak with her about the FIR.”

However, denying rumours that she left the city to evade police investigation, Instagram influencer Hitesha Chandranee — who accused a Zomato employee of assaulting her while delivering her food — has said she is cooperating with the probe.

“I have been cooperating with the police and have not left Bengaluru as spread by various quarters. Bengaluru is home for me,” she said in a written statement shared on her Instagram profile.

The second FIR which was registered on March 15 alleged that Hitesha had assaulted Kamaraj with a slipper over an argument about late delivery.

On March 9, Chandranee had shared a video of her bleeding nose on social media, alleging that a Zomato delivery executive, later identified as Kamaraj, assaulted her.Kamaraj filed a counter-complaint after getting released on bail. In his complaint filed at the same police station, he accused Chandranee of abusing him and throwing slippers at him, adding that the injury to her nose might have been caused by her own ring.
