A former Bajrang Dal leader has been recently arrested by Karnataka Police for allegedly being involved in the smuggling and illegal sale of cattle. The arrested person has been identified as Anil Prabhu who was the former Karkala district president of Bajrang Dal.
He was held after a person named Muhammad Yasin was arrested by the police for allegedly being involved in cattle smuggling. During interrogation, Yasin confessed that Prabhu was also involved with him.
Prabhu and Yasin allegedly used to steal stray cattle and supply them to slaughterhouses. The former Bajrang Dal leader used to receive protection money from the slaughterhouses. Bajrang Dal has categorically stated that Prabhu was no longer associated with the organization.
Yasin was reportedly arrested by police near the Banglegudde Junction. According to reports, Yasin told the police that the former Bajrang Dal district chief used to take money when stolen cattle and beef was transported to another location. Prabhu reportedly made sure that there should be no issue from police in the transportation of smuggled cattle. Yasin was stopped by the Police for riding a two-wheeler without a helmet at Banglegudde junction in Karkala city.
