The state government of Chattisgarh has lashed out at the centre over its partisan behaviour in the management of the Covid19 pandemic. It is the second non-BJP ruled state after Maharashtra which has accused the centre of unfavourable treatment during a pandemic.

The health minister of Chattisgarh, TS Singh Deo launched a vitriolic attack on the centre over its strategy to deal with the pandemic. He also claimed that the state of Chattisgarh was performing much better in terms of distribution of the vaccines & testing as compared to the BJP-ruled states.
Deo stated over Twitter that, “to hide its massive history of failures, BJP distracts people by spreading misinformation.” He also added that Chattisgarh is one of the leading states in terms of vaccination & that more than 10% of people have been already vaccinated. He further added in his comment over Twitter, that “captive to its vile nature, BJP is spreading lies about it as well.”

Deo’s remarks came after the Union health minister commented that states like Maharashtra and Chattisgarh were spreading panic and misinformation about the Covid19.
In his caustic and scathing attack directed towards the central government, Deo listed Demonetization, flawed GST, unplanned lockdown & vaccination strategy as the failed attempts by BJP at difficult questions.
On the national scale, India reported 1,67,642 cases of new infection in a new daily high on Friday. The total caseload of the country stands at 9,79,608 active cases. A total of 780 deaths were reported on Thursday, which is the highest fatality figure for a day since October 18, 2020. Almost half of the deaths are from Maharashtra, while Chattisgarh reported 94 deaths. In Chattisgarh, 407231 people are so far infected with Coronavirus out of which 68125 are active cases.
