After the Bhartiya Janata Party is increasingly losing its grip with recently seeing a debacle in five key states, including Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand, during assembly polls, the party is leaving no stone unturned to make a mark in the upcoming elections.

So much so that the party is already prepping for the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections.

According to latest reports, party president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is learning Bengali for the West Bengal polls.

Shah aims to learn Bangla so that the language doesn’t become a barrier while making strategies for the polls. He also plans to start his address during his campaign in the state with Bangla to connect in a better way with the public. He has appointed a teacher also for the same.

It must be noted that, in a recent rally, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee termed Shah as an “outsider”.

A senior BJP leader of West Bengal told the media agency that there was nothing new in it. Shah is learning four different languages, including Bangla and Tamil.

Shah had learnt Hindi while he was in prison and was prohibited from entering Gujarat for two years. He has also learned classical music and he practices it to unwind.

According to party sources, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh has set a target of reaching out to one crore people across the state in next one month and explain to them the need for implementation of CAA in Bengal, which has a huge number of Hindu refugees.

The sources said the party is pinning hopes that the CAA would be its political trump card against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjees and garner support in its favour.

On December 26, party sources had said that senior cabinet ministers and BJP leaders will be deployed across the country in an effort to dispel misgivings about the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC) being allegedly spread by the opposition.
