Green Indian Challenge has been taken ahead by many prominent faces in India. Prabhas Fans Association of Karnataka (PFAK) participated in Green India Challenge at Kidwai Cancer Hospital, Diary circle and planted 180 medicinal plants. They planted 180 medicinal plants including mosquito repellent plants in 1550 square yards vacant land of the Cancer Hospital. The movement was initiated by Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar to protect the environment.

Prabhas Fans Association of Karnataka would take up social activities every year drawing inspiration from “Rebel” stars Krishnam Raju and Prabhas. The challenge has led Prabhas to not only participate in it by planting saplings but also adopting 1,600 acres of Forest.

Mega movie star Ram Charan had also participated in Green India Challenge and planted several saplings at his residence along with Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar. The Green India challenge requires participants to plant saplings and nominate others to continue the chain. While thanking actor Prabhas for nominating, he expressed regret that he was a little late in accepting the challenge. “I have accepted the challenge from Prabhas and planted 3 saplings. Further, I am nominating SS Rajamouli, Alia Bhatt, entire my RRR Movie team and all my fans to plant 3 trees and continue the chain. Special thanks to MP Santosh for taking this initiative”, Ram Charan tweeted.

Samantha Akkineni accepted the challenge from her father-in-law and actor Nagarjuna, and  together they planted saplings and posted the pictures online. Naga Chaitanya accepted the challenge from director Nandini Reddy and had planted saplings. He had also nominated his colleagues in the Telugu film industry, Vikram K Kumar, Shiva Nirvana, Sushanth and Rakul Preet Singh to take up the Green India Challenge.

Members of Youth Hostel Association of India had planted Himalayan Balsam saplings in the premises of Kedarnath Temple as a part of the Green India Challenge. The group comprising of Srikanth, Alpha patel, Mrinalini Upadhyay, Nitesh Jain among others were the part of Char Dham Yatra. On September 29, actor Sonu Sood had also participated in the challenge by planting a sapling in Ramoji Film City.
