Exuding confidence that BJP would form the next government in Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah, has accused chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal of riding to power by “misleading” voters with a host of promises and not fulfilling any of them.

Addressing BJP’s booth-level workers’ rally at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Shah said, “One can mislead people once but not all the time. BJP will come to power in Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Shah accused the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of instigating “riots” on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and asked BJP workers to carry out an extensive campaign to explain the law to voters.

“Do you want a government in Delhi which incites riots for politics? What is wrong with CAA, I want to ask you… Tell me, the poor refugees… Dalit, Sikh refugees who came from Pakitsan and Bangladesh, should get citizenship or not?”, he asked.

He also said there is no provision in the CAA to take away anyone’s citizenship.

“Modiji wants to give them citizenship, but anti-Dalit Kejriwal and anti-Dalit Congress is opposing it. I will start the campaign by reaching out to each house… Will you spread the message of Modiji? Will you expose the anti-national stand of Rahul Gandhi? Will you tell people how Kejriwalji has misled,” Shah added.

Charging Kejriwal with “wasting” public money on advertisements, the BJP chief questioned the AAP government for completing any work in the last five years in the national capital.

“He promised 20 colleges, I cannot see any even with binoculars. He promised 5,000 schools but they are not visible even with spectacles,” Shah said.

He also accused Kejriwal of “favouring the tukde tukde” gang by not giving sanction to prosecute Kanhaiya Kumar, the former president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU), in the JNU sedition case.
