After sweeping the Delhi elections and then swearing-in as the CM on February 16th at a massive event, AAP’s chief Arvind Kejriwal has begun his duties as the national capital’s head.

To begin with, Kejriwal has called a meeting of top officers tomorrow to discuss the implementation of “ten guarantees” including uninterrupted power supply, garbage-free Delhi and basic facilities for unauthorised colonies, sources said.

Other agendas that are on the list to be discussed at the meet are potable piped water supply, education for every child, free bus ride scheme for different sections of society, healthcare facilities, safety of women and cleaning of Yamuna.
Reassuring there would be “no dearth of buses” in the national capital soon, Kejriwal stuck to his promise of expanding city’s bus fleet ahead of assembly elections.

“It did take time. But finally we were able to overcome all obstacles. So, buses have started arriving. I can assure all Delhiites, soon there won’t be any dearth of buses (sic),” the 51-year-old AAP chief tweeted this morning.

In a “10-point guarantee card” released by Mr Kejriwal last month ahead of assembly polls, he had promised more than 11,000 buses in the city. Expansion of the metro network to over 500 km, was also one of the poll promises made by the AAP, which also said that city’s metro network would be made the “world’s largest”.

Kejriwal who took charge of the new government with six other cabinet ministers on Monday, will not be holding any department for now.

The portfolios of all ministers in the last cabinet are intact with minor changes though the Delhi Jal Board, which was under the CM, has been assigned to Satyendra Jain who also heads power, health and PWD departments.

Sisodia has retained all departments which he helmed in the last government, except for the department for women and child welfare.
