Even after 25 days of results being declared, Maharashtra has got no government yet. The state is rather seeing a battle of seat sharing for so many days, resulting in the president rule being imposed there.

However, it seems that the long pending stalemate is finally coming to an end and the state will see a bright tomorrow soon. There have been speculations that after the BJP refused to stake claims, the Congress, NCP and the Shiv Sena are in the fray to rule the state.

Over the same matter, the Congress held a meeting with the NCP today and latest resources say there has been a complete unanimity on all the points between the two parties. Congress further says that it will now hold talks with the Sena tomorrow and will then take a call of meeting the state governor.

As the parleys continued, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said on Thursday, “A new government in Maharashtra should be in place before December and a final decision on it will be taken in a day or two.”

Meanwhile, top Congress leaders and core members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) continued to hold extensive meetings at party chief Sonia Gandhi’s residence over the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) to support a Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra.

“Yesterday’s (Wednesday) meeting was on Common Minimum Programme and leaders of the two parties (NCP and Congress) have said the deliberations were positive. In a day or two, the three parties will reach a consensus. Maharashtra will get a stable government led by Shiv Sena before December,” Raut told the media.

On Wednesday, for the first time, the Congress-NCP alliance said that they in-principle agreed to be part of a Sena-led alliance. After a marathon meeting on Wednesday, the Congress and NCP leaders said they have in-principle agreed to form an alliance in Maharashtra and a give a “stable” state government.
