After actor Sunny Deol, singer Daler Mehndi has become the second celebrity to join BJP, a week after Deol joined the ruling party.

Mehndi joined the party in the presence of fellow singer and BJP candidate in Delhi, Hans Raj Hans, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari and Union minister Vijay Goel.

Mehndi expressed his feelings by singing: “Dill Modi Modi ho gaya, oye ki kariye ki kariye.”

It may be noted here, Daler Mehndi’s daughter is married to a son of Hans Raj Hans.

The BJP has also fielded popular Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans from the North-West Delhi constituency against Guggan Singh of the AAP and Rajesh Lilothia of the Congress. Hans Raj Hans joined the BJP in 2016 after ditching the Congress.
