Campaigning for the poll bound Jharkhand is underway in full fledged manner. Senior and top BJP as well as Congress leaders are holding major rallies in various parts of the state, batting for their respective parties.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had a verbal war as they rallied in different parts of Jharkhand, few days back, Rahul was at the receiving end, when BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a gathering at Jharkhand’s Pakur district, which will go to polls in fifth phase.

Making a blistering attack on the opposition, Shah said that the Congress had done nothing for the state questioned by why the Hemant Soren-led JMM could not wipe out Naxalism when it was in power.

He said it was the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government that created Jharkhand, and the Narendra Modi dispensation worked for its development after burying Naxalism 20 feet under the Earth.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Rahul Gandhi keeps asking why we mention Kashmir (abrogation of article 370) during our rallies in the state. He is wearing Italian glasses, has no idea that youth from the state shed blood on the borders to protect country.”

“Rahul baba and Hemant Soren ji say why are you talking about Kashmir in Jharkhand? I would like to ask you, don’t you want to see Kashmir become an integral part of India? After abrogation of Article 370, Kashmir has become India’s integral part forever,” Shah said.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand witnessed polling in 15 constituencies, under the 4th phase today. Over 55% of voter turnout was recorded till 3 pm. Braving cold weather, voters, including women and senior citizens, are seen waiting in queues for their turn to cast their vote. The voters will decide the fate of 221 candidates, including 22 women and a third gender. Of the 15 constituencies, five are affected by the Maoists.
